Arnela Odzakovic Chosen Athlete of the Year by Sports Federation of BiH

Arnela Odzakovic was declared the most successful athlete in Bosnia-Herzegovina in 2008 in a traditional selection made by the Sports Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina (SSBiH).
The 25-year-old member of Sarajevo’s Karate Club Bushido, as part of the national team of BiH won two medals, silver in individual competitions and bronze in team competitions, at the European Championship in Tallin in May this year.
By decision of an expert jury composed of former athletes of the year and journalists, Arnela Odzakovic won the flattering award in competition of six nominated athletes - Mervana Jugic Salkic (tennis), Hamza Alic (track and field), Lucija Kimani (track and field), Amel Mekic (judo), Memnun Hadzic (judo) and Igor Emkic (kick boxing).
Odzakovic received another award as the most successful female athlete in BiH this year, for the fourth year in a row.
In competition of female teams, the karate national team of BiH was the most successful.
